The ZipperFox 40 is a tactical backpack with a 40-litre capacity, dimensions of 60×29×25 cm and an empty weight of 1,850 g — roughly the same as a full 1.5-litre water bottle. It is designed for multi-day outings, survival activities and military use, where carrying a substantial load without sacrificing internal structure and organisation is essential.
The SAS carry system is the core of the design: long ergonomic shoulder straps distribute weight across the full shoulder, the chest strap stabilises the load during movement and the hip belt transfers part of the weight onto the hips. The removable aluminium stay inside the back panel keeps the bag rigid under heavy loads, but can be pulled out to reduce bulk and overall weight when it is not needed. This is a trade-off worth considering: with the stay in place, load comfort is noticeably better, but the pack becomes less compressible for stowage.
The U-shaped opening lets you access the single main compartment like a suitcase, without digging down from the top. Inside you will find 7 pockets and dividers, plus an internal MOLLE panel that allows modular pouches to be added without using up the external surface. The quick-release ski attachment system, the ID panel and compatibility with CamelBak-style hydration systems round out the feature set without adding unnecessary bulk. The double bottom houses the included rain cover, accessible quickly without opening the main compartment. The fabric is Cordura 500, the zips are Wisport's own production and the buckles are ITW Nexus and Duraflex — components with a proven track record under repeated loads and field conditions.

- The rain cover is housed in the double bottom: it takes up no space in the main compartment and is ready to hand when rain starts.

- The quick-release ski attachment system adds versatility for those operating in winter environments or needing to carry long equipment.
