Backpacks

Backpacks for tactical use, hiking, and everyday carry, from compact capacities to volumes suited for extended stays.

Capacity is not enough

Litres are the first figure, but not the most important one. Below twenty-five litres, a pack simply sits on your shoulders. Above forty, you need a load-bearing frame and a hip belt to transfer weight onto the pelvis: without one, twenty kilograms rest entirely on the shoulders, and the march becomes unsustainable well before the planned distance.

The second criterion is access. A clamshell opening lets you reach items at the bottom without emptying everything out; a top-loading-only design forces you to remove contents in reverse order. On a day pack this matters little; on a load-carrying pack it matters a great deal.

The third is expandability: external MOLLE webbing, compressible side pockets, hydration bladder compatibility. This determines whether a single pack covers multiple needs or whether two are required.
