The Z-Tactical Comtac II FAST are electronic tactical headsets featuring automatic peak sound attenuation and environmental sound amplification, designed for shooters, hunters and operators who need hearing protection without sacrificing situational awareness. The connector follows the standard military format and ensures compatibility with Z-Tactical PTT devices.

The electronic system balances two opposing requirements: low-level ambient sounds — footsteps, voices, background noise — are amplified to increase environmental perception, while gunshots and any sound impulse above the safe threshold are automatically cut before reaching the ear cup. The result is that the headset can be kept on even during breaks between strings of fire without losing awareness of the surroundings. Radio audio is reproduced on both sides, so the incoming signal does not mask perception of the outside world.

The volume controls are positioned on the sides of the ear cups and can be operated with gloves on without removing hands from the weapon. The microphone is removable: when not needed for team communications it detaches tool-free, reducing bulk. Power is supplied by 2 AA batteries not included, a format easy to source in any operational or sporting context.
