CO2 delivers consistent pressure shot after shot and produces a sharper blowback cycle compared to green gas, which improves realism and perceived rate of fire. The trade-off is in handling: at low temperatures cartridge output drops, and each magazine change requires either swapping or carefully storing the cartridge to preserve residual gas — something worth factoring in during longer sessions.
