ESP HT-01-T Training Disposable Handcuffs — 5-piece set

The HT-01-T are the training version of ESP disposable handcuffs, in red, sold in a 5-piece set. They are designed to allow repeated application techniques to be practised without consuming operational devices, which is why they are chosen by instructors, law enforcement officers and private security personnel who run frequent training sessions.

Instead of the locking blocks found on the operational versions HT-01-Y and HT-01-B, the HT-01-T use friction-based silicone rollers. These rollers allow the zip to be inserted with the same smoothness as real handcuffs and offer enough resistance to simulate the behaviour of the retention system. The practical difference from the operational versions is that removal is possible in a safe and controlled manner without destroying the device: the HT-01-T can be reused throughout the entire session.

The red colour is a functional choice, not an aesthetic one: it allows training handcuffs to be immediately distinguished from operational ones during exercises, eliminating the risk of confusion in contexts where both versions are present. The trade-off compared to operational handcuffs is as expected: the resistance of the silicone rollers does not exactly replicate the retention force of the permanent lock, but it is sufficient to reproduce the mechanics of the technique and the kinaesthetic experience of the restrained subject.
