The Mechanix Specialty Vent Covert are lightweight tactical gloves designed for those operating in intense heat or high humidity: shooters, hunters and professional operators who cannot afford to lose feel or grip due to perspiration. The 0.6 mm palm material combined with mesh across the back of the hand provides active airflow during extended use.

Ventilation doesn't stop at the back of the hand: the trigger-side fingers and the finger gussets are also perforated, so air circulates where hand pressure generates the most heat. The trade-off to bear in mind is that the open construction significantly increases breathability but reduces abrasion protection compared to a full-palm glove: this design makes sense in hot environments where weapon control depends on keeping hands dry, not in situations that call for high mechanical protection.
