Mechanix Pursuit CR5 Covert Gloves

The Pursuit CR5 Covert is a full-finger tactical glove designed for law enforcement operators, firearms instructors, and anyone who works with a weapon in hand on a daily basis: it must provide cut protection without sacrificing the sensitivity needed for controls, pat-downs, and weapon manipulation.

The abrasion-resistant synthetic leather palm conceals an inner layer of Armortex® certified to CE Level 5 for blade cut resistance. Level 5 is the top of the EN 388 scale for blades: the glove therefore offers the highest protection available in this category without giving up flexibility. Covering both fingers and palm with the same material eliminates the protection gap between the grip and lateral hand movements — a critical weak point in all close-contact situations.

The trade-off to be aware of is this: the three-panel, three-dimensional construction and the stretch spandex on the back of the hand provide an anatomical fit and freedom of movement, but a glove with an internal cut-resistant lining is inevitably bulkier than a pure shooting glove. Those who prioritise maximum trigger sensitivity at controlled distances will find it more structured than the bare minimum; those who routinely face situations where physical contact is a real possibility will appreciate the added safety margin. The touchscreen-compatible palm allows operation on capacitive devices without removing the glove, maintaining operational continuity.
