The flared opening guides the magazine during rapid reloads, reducing missed insertions especially under stress or when using the non-dominant hand. The machined aluminium stiffens the lower portion of the polymer frame, improving stability during two-handed shooting. The trade-off is typical of this type of accessory: the bulkier profile provides better grip and guidance, but slightly increases holster bulk; compatibility with your holster should be checked before installation.
