KRYPTEK Waterproof Pack Cover — Kryptek Highlander

The KRYPTEK Waterproof Pack Cover is a protective rain cover for rucksacks made from waterproof fabric with taped seams, available in three sizes to fit volumes from 30 to 110 litres. It is designed for those who operate outdoors in heavy rain and cannot afford to find their kit soaked — whether that is ammunition, hunting electronics or field service equipment.

Choosing the right size is the first critical factor: size M fits rucksacks from 30 to 50 litres, L from 50 to 70 litres, and XL from 70 to 110 litres. A cover that is too large loses its fit and flaps in the wind; one that is too small will not close over the shoulder straps or side attachment points. The waterproof fabric with taped seams eliminates the ingress points that standard stitching leaves exposed, even on rucksacks marketed as water-resistant.

The Kryptek Highlander pattern is designed for alpine and sub-alpine environments combining rock, snow and low vegetation: the cover keeps the load concealed even when removed from the rucksack and left hanging or set down on open ground. The practical trade-off to bear in mind is that an outer cover adds a step — removing it before accessing the contents — and that during fast movement or in very wet conditions it must be refitted carefully to avoid leaving gaps. Anyone requiring immediate access in the rain should consider whether full protection is worth this operational delay.

Key features

• Taped seams eliminate ingress at fabric join points, which remain vulnerable even on waterproof untaped materials.
• Three sizes (M, L, XL) cover the full range of volumes in common use, from assault packs to large expedition sacks.
• The Kryptek Highlander pattern maintains visual concealment even when the cover is separated from the rucksack.
• Protection covers the entire load perimeter, unlike DWR treatments applied to the rucksack fabric, which degrade over time.
