The Vagabond Seat Pad is a folding sit pad made by Helikon-Tex in 500D Cordura nylon, designed for anyone who operates or moves in the field and cannot afford to go without insulation from cold or wet ground. Unfolded it measures 35x29 cm, enough surface to sit stably; folded down to 18x10x3 cm, it slips into a cargo pocket or the side compartment of a pack. At 90 grams — less than an energy bar — it adds nothing noticeable to any carry configuration.

The 1 mm internal foam does not insulate like a bivouac pad, but it does exactly what it is meant to do: reduce heat conduction to the ground during a short halt, provide a barrier against surface moisture, and cushion contact with hard surfaces such as rock or asphalt. Anyone needing extended thermal insulation — a high-altitude stop in winter conditions, for example — should look at thicker pads. The Vagabond is optimised for speed of deployment and zero bulk, not for a fixed camp.

The press-stud closure keeps the pad folded during transport. The integrated MOLLE/PALS loop lets you attach it to a belt or to the outside of any compatible vest, and the D-ring allows it to be clipped to a carabiner or a pack's suspension system.
