Helikon-Tex Tracer Anorak Polycotton Ripstop Jacket

The Tracer Anorak is a unisex windshell jacket in Polycotton Ripstop fabric (65% polyester, 35% cotton, weight 235 g/m²), designed for people who move in variable outdoor conditions and need to carry a significant amount of kit without sacrificing freedom of movement. The generous cut — derived from the Woodsman pattern but with a roomier fit — allows the jacket to be worn comfortably over a light mid-layer, and the sizing works equally well for both male and female builds.

The cotton-polyester Ripstop fabric offers better tear resistance than plain cotton, and wears more comfortably against the body over long periods than technical nylon. It is not a waterproof fabric: the semi-open structure is intended to block light wind and shed light spray, not to handle sustained rain. To compensate, the lateral ventilation zips — which open all the way to the armpit — allow heat to escape during intense physical effort, making the jacket more versatile than a simple seasonal outer shell.

The pocket layout is where the Tracer stands apart from earlier models: at the front, a large kangaroo pouch contains three separate compartments — one open front pocket and two side pockets with flank access — so documents, snacks or small kit can be kept apart without opening the entire pouch. The two shoulder pockets feature Velcro panels for ID or mission patches. The elbows are reinforced to handle wear in the prone shooting position or when resting on hard surfaces. The deep hood with visor is fully adjustable, as are the cuffs and hem via Velcro closures, which seal the perimeter without the need for drawcords. Declared weight is 891 g.
