The open mesh structure allows constant ventilation, eliminating the fogging that plagues closed polycarbonate eye protection during intense activity.

The metal mesh provides mechanical protection distributed across the entire face: no direct impact reaches the nose, cheeks or chin. Compared to a lower face mask paired with separate goggles, full-face coverage eliminates the gap between the two pieces, which is the most vulnerable point in many hybrid setups. The trade-off to keep in mind is that metal mesh does not offer the same ballistic protection as certified polycarbonate lenses: it is suited to airsoft with plastic BBs, not to fragments or high-energy impacts.
