FMA PEQ LA5-C Upgrade Tactical Light — Black

The PEQ LA5-C Upgrade is a multi-function illumination and aiming module made by FMA, designed for weapon-mounted use by shooters and operators who need white light, green laser and IR capability in a single unit weighing 165 g. It mounts on a Picatinny rail and runs on two CR123A batteries or equivalent rechargeable 16340/RCR123A cells at 3 V or 3.7 V.

Compared to the previous LA5 series, this Upgrade version introduces ten substantial changes to the construction: the lamp head is now machined aluminium, the main selector is engraved rather than moulded, the battery compartment cover has been extended and is also aluminium, and the optical lenses for the laser and IR function are higher-quality tempered glass. The result is a stiffer body and a sharper laser and IR beam than the previous generation. The IR markings are separate and legible on the panel, and decorative screws have been added that visually reinforce the assembly without adding weight.

Operation is handled through several modes selectable via the rotary selector: white light in continuous or momentary mode, continuous or momentary green laser, simultaneous laser and white light combination, and IR function for use with image intensifiers. The double-click activation and indicator light function add flexibility for night use. A pressure pad remote is included in the box for activation without moving your hand from the grip. It should be noted that this is a replica unit in mixed materials: robust enough for use on a sporting carbine and for hunting, but not designed to meet the durability standards of certified military-grade equipment.
