Replacement memory foam kit for FMA tactical helmets, consisting of 9 shaped pads (including 2 longer pieces) designed for users who wear their helmet for extended periods and want to eliminate the pressure points typical of standard padding. Attachment is via Velcro: the kit includes 19 pieces of Velcro tape for positioning and replacing individual pads without modifying the helmet shell.

Memory foam conforms to the shape of the skull, distributing load across the entire contact surface. Unlike conventional foam, which offers uniform resistance, memory foam yields where pressure is greatest and redistributes it laterally. The result is a noticeable reduction in localised compression points — particularly relevant during long wear sessions or when combined with tactical headsets and additional retention systems that increase the total weight on the helmet.

The trade-off to consider is thermal regulation: memory foam retains more heat against the scalp than mesh or vented padding. In warm environments or during physically demanding activity this can be a factor. In temperate or cold conditions, however, that same heat retention becomes an advantage, and the comfort and cushioning benefits outweigh this limitation in most use cases.
