FOSTEX

Size: L

The FOSTEX Combat Fleece Jacket is a technical fleece designed for use in cold and wet conditions, where a mid-layer needs to insulate without adding bulk. Its hybrid construction combines fleece with ripstop panels, making it suitable for those who work or move outdoors while wearing a tactical vest or plate carrier.

The body is made from 100% polyester fleece, chosen for its ability to retain insulation even when damp, while remaining lightweight and breathable. The areas most subject to wear — shoulders, elbows and back — are reinforced with ripstop 65% polyester / 35% cotton, a tear-resistant fabric that holds up without stiffening the jacket at the points where it flexes most during movement. This balance between soft fleece and structural reinforcement means the jacket lasts longer under heavy use without sacrificing freedom of movement where it matters.

Two front zip pockets with YKK zips and two inner pockets provide quick access to essentials. The sleeve pockets with hook-and-loop panel remain accessible even when a tactical vest is worn over the torso — a design detail that makes a real difference in operational contexts. Underarm mesh venting with a zip and a mesh panel on the upper back help wick moisture during activity, preventing the heat build-up that a traditional fleece tends to accumulate during prolonged exertion. Hook-and-loop cuff closures let you seal the sleeves without delay. The main zip is backed by an internal ripstop wind flap that blocks draughts without adding weight. The manufacturer recommends sizing up from your usual size.

Key features

  • Ripstop reinforcements on shoulders, elbows and back: the most exposed areas resist abrasion without stiffening the jacket.
  • Sleeve pockets with hook-and-loop for patches: accessible even with a tactical vest or plate carrier worn over the top.
  • Underarm zip venting and back mesh panel: wick moisture during intense activity, reducing the risk of a wet underlayer.
  • All YKK zips: the benchmark for reliability in cold conditions and after repeated use.
  • Adjustable hook-and-loop cuffs: seal the sleeve around a glove without leaving gaps for heat loss.
  • Layering-compatible: the cut and slim profile of the reinforcements create no bulk under an outer shell.
