Nite Ize CamJam XT Large Aluminium Cord Tightener with 3 m Paracord — Black

The CamJam XT Large is a die-cast aluminium cord tightener that combines a carabiner with a gate and a rotating cam mechanism into a single body. Designed for heavy loads, it comes supplied with 3 metres of paracord ready to use, with no knots required to put the line under tension.

The working load limit of the CamJam XT Large is 227 kg in open configuration; with the included paracord the limit drops to 113 kg, determined by the cord's own rating rather than the aluminium body. Users who fit their own cord of greater diameter and strength get the full capacity of the device. The cam locks the cord with a single pull and releases it by rotating the lever: no knots to untie under load, no loss of tension during use.

The system works in two configurations. In the fixed-point setup, the carabiner is clipped to an anchor, the cord is threaded through the cam and pulled to lock; in the loop setup, a knot is tied at the first anchor, the CamJam XT is clipped on, and the free end is tensioned through the cam toward the second point. The first configuration is faster to rig; the second allows closed-loop working when a direct attachment point is not available at both ends.
