The MBDU Shirt is an anatomically cut combat shirt designed for operators and shooters who need full freedom of movement without giving up functionality. The main fabric is a NyCo Ripstop — a reinforced-weave nylon-cotton blend — combined with VersaStretch side panels, a four-way stretch material that moves with the arms and torso without creating pressure points or unwanted bunching.
The standard collar converts to a high, closed configuration via a velcro system: a practical solution when wearing neck protection or when minimising skin exposure. Mesh panels in the armpits improve airflow in the highest heat-output areas, partially offsetting the density of the NyCo Ripstop — which is not a quick-dry technical fabric, but offers greater abrasion and tear resistance than lightweight synthetics. Those who prioritise maximum lightness and moisture management need to weigh this trade-off; those who value durability and seam integrity will find it works directly in their favour.
On the chest, two large YKK-zip pockets with loop panels for overlapping patches; on the sleeves, zip pockets on the bicep with an internal dummy cord ring, large loop panels for identification patches, and smaller panels dedicated to flags or IFF patches. A rank tab at the centre chest and snap buttons complete a configuration built for operational use. Cuffs adjust with velcro closure to fit over gloves.
