The Nite Ize SlideLock Carabiner Bungee is a securing bungee cord 91 cm long and 8 mm in diameter, fitted with a sliding locking carabiner at each end. It is designed to secure loads on vehicles, trailers, truck beds and field equipment quickly and without risk of accidental release.

The SlideLock mechanism is what sets this bungee apart from conventional ones: the carabiner stays hooked to the anchor even when the bungee is slack and under no tension. With standard bungee hooks, the free hook tends to slip loose during loading and unloading, with the risk of a dangerous snapback. Here the lock holds the carabiner in place under both conditions, making attachment and detachment a deliberate action rather than an accidental one.
