Wosport Helmet Rail Tactical Signal Light — Red

The choice of red light is deliberate: the red wavelength preserves the eye's dark adaptation far better than white light, allowing operators to signal their position to teammates without dazzling the wearer or anyone observing at close range. This makes it well suited to night operations where maintaining visual sensitivity is as important as being identified.

Mounting on the helmet rail keeps both hands free and holds the light in a fixed position relative to the head, ensuring the signal is always oriented consistently with the operator's movement. The trade-off to bear in mind is that a light fixed to the helmet rail cannot be aimed independently of the line of sight, unlike a handheld torch: the signal direction follows where the operator is looking, which is an advantage for frontal signalling but limits directional flexibility.
