The KMCS Tripod Cover is an ultra-lightweight camouflage cover designed to conceal an observation or shooting tripod without adding appreciable weight or limiting manoeuvrability. It is aimed at precision shooters, hunters and operators who use a tripod in extended static positions where the silhouette of the equipment can give away a position.

The 5-segment modular construction allows the cover to be fitted to most tripods on the market and distributes the material so as to break up the characteristic geometric shape of the legs and head. It is precisely the tripod silhouette — straight, symmetrical, artificial — that a trained eye picks out first in a natural environment: fragmenting it is the first step towards making the system less visible at medium and long range.

The material is treated with IRR (Infrared Reflection Reduction) technology, which lowers the spectral response of the fabric in the wavelengths detected by night-vision devices and certain thermal cameras. This means the cover remains effective in low-light conditions or when the adversary or quarry is using image-intensifying optics. The integrated dreadlock system allows natural vegetation gathered on site, or artificial elements such as synthetic leaves or silicone strips, to be woven in, adding three-dimensionality to the concealment. This is a trade-off worth bearing in mind: the base cover already reduces visual and IRR signatures, but without added vegetation it remains flat; with vegetation woven in it becomes more effective, though it requires a few extra minutes to set up and may slightly increase bulk during transport.
