The Fenix WH35RE is a rechargeable head torch with ATEX certification, designed for professional use in potentially explosive atmospheres: mines, chemical plants, and Ex-zone construction sites. With a maximum output of 280 lumens and a beam range of 21 metres, it meets operational requirements in darkness while maintaining the explosion-proof safety standard demanded by the most stringent regulations. The body is metal and the total weight including battery is 153 grams.

It features five brightness levels plus SOS: maximum runtime reaches 280 hours on the lowest setting, while higher levels provide the light output needed for precision work in the dark. The dual Cree XP-G3 light source produces daylight white light between 5500 and 6500 K, with accurate colour rendering — useful whenever colours, cables, labels or indicators need to be distinguished under poor natural lighting. Charging takes place via USB-C directly on the torch body, without removing the battery: in Ex environments this is a practical operational advantage as it reduces risk-prone handling.

IP66 resistance provides complete protection against dust and water jets from any direction. Durability is confirmed by a drop resistance rating of 2 metres. One important consideration concerns the battery: ATEX certification requires exclusive use of the ARB-L21-3000Ex cell included in the box. It is not interchangeable with other standard Fenix Li-ion cells, even those of identical dimensions. Anyone who already owns ARB-L21 batteries from other Fenix models cannot use them in this torch body: the Ex-certified cell must be the one supplied. The manufacturer advises against charging in explosion-risk environments.
