Helikon-Tex Double Upper Rifle Bag 18 — Multicam

The Helikon-Tex Double Upper Rifle Bag 18 is a soft nylon case designed to carry two rifles in AR-15 or AK configuration. The internal dimensions of 101x38 cm allow you to fit a complete AR-15 with optic alongside an additional upper receiver, or two short AR-15 or AK carbines in standard configuration without sights. Empty weight is 2770 g, comparable to an entry-level hard case, but with considerably greater packing flexibility.

The main compartment features an adjustable retention strap system that secures the rifles during transport, limiting movement even on vehicles travelling over rough terrain. Additional elastic loops hold cleaning rods, maintenance kits and minor accessories in place without shifting. The soft construction, only 4 cm thick when empty, allows the bag to be stored flat in tight spaces — a car boot or a locker — when not in use, something a hard case of equivalent capacity cannot do.

On the outside, three separate zip pockets each feature a panel compatible with the Versatile Insert system, meaning modular inserts can be added to organise ammunition, documents or ancillary gear without changing bags as the task changes. The four handles distributed around the perimeter make it possible to lift and manoeuvre the load with two people when carrying heavy weights, while the detachable shoulder straps — stowable in dedicated internal pockets — keep the exterior uncluttered when not needed. One trade-off to keep in mind: the soft construction offers less impact protection than a hard case; anyone transporting valuable optics over particularly rough routes may want to consider adding supplementary internal padding.
