Communication
Two-way radios, tactical headsets and PTT systems for team communication.
The system consists of three parts
A radio, a headset and a PTT with the correct cable. The critical point is always the connector: Kenwood two-pin, Motorola, Midland and proprietary formats are not compatible with one another, and a PTT with the wrong fitting will not work.
Regarding headsets, electronic models attenuate the impulse of a shot while letting voices through: this is what you need when you have to hear your teammates and protect your hearing at the same time. Check compatibility with the helmet if you plan to use them together, as rail-mount adapters differ from headband-mount ones.
A note on frequencies
The use of two-way radios is regulated by law and varies from country to country. Some bands are licence-free; others require a licence or authorisation. Check what is permitted in the area where you intend to use the device before purchasing.
