The Wosport Scarab is a modular Cordura back panel designed for anyone running a plate carrier who wants to use the rear surface without giving up mobility or quick access. Measuring 40 x 26 cm and weighing 500 g, it attaches to the back of the carrier via the MOLLE grid with no dedicated hardware, shifting some of the load normally concentrated on the chest toward the rear.

The panel is organised into two separate pockets with different access logic. The upper pocket is stitched solidly to the panel and contains a removable insert with pull tabs for fast extraction: the insert holds 8 elastic loops for 40 mm grenades, useful both for training and advanced milsim. The front of the upper pocket features an additional MOLLE grid with velcro, allowing secondary pouches or ID patches to be added without any modification. The lower pocket is a rip-off IFAK type: it is held to the panel by velcro and a buckle strap, so it can be pulled free in one firm motion by a buddy or by the wearer. Inside, elastic loops keep medical supplies organised. The front carries a small velcro panel for a blood-type patch and a document pocket.

The trade-off to consider is between retention security and access speed. The IFAK rip-off system allows fast detachment in an emergency, but the velcro-and-buckle attachment — solid enough during normal movement — provides less absolute retention than a fixed-stitched pocket. Anyone operating in environments with heavy physical contact or dense vegetation should make sure the buckle strap is always fastened. The upper pocket, being structurally integral to the panel, does not present this issue.
