The mesh is made from pressable carbon steel: it can be slightly shaped to follow the contours of the wearer's face without any tools. The cheeks and upper edge are covered in 1000D nylon with internal padding, so the rigid frame does not press directly against the cheekbone even after hours of use. The adjustable elastic straps fit a range of head sizes without needing to be readjusted while the mask is on.

The trade-off to keep in mind is this: the steel mesh provides solid protection and optimal airflow, and is far less prone to fogging than a full-face polycarbonate mask, but it offers no eye protection. It must be paired with airsoft-rated glasses or a dedicated eye mask.
