Helikon-Tex Woodsman Anorak

The Woodsman Anorak is a pullover jacket by Helikon-Tex designed for extended outdoor use, camping, and hunting. Its hybrid construction combines two fabrics with opposing properties on the same garment: the front panel in DuraCanvas® handles mechanical stress, while the rear panel in StormStretch® manages body heat during movement. The fit is generous — chest measurements start at 109 cm in XS and reach 145 cm in 3XL — allowing layering without binding at the shoulders or arms.

The DuraCanvas® front is a tough, spark-resistant fabric: it holds up against branches, tall grass, and flying embers without fraying or melting. The trade-off is that the front panel breathes less freely: this anorak is not designed for sustained aerobic effort, but for activities where mechanical and thermal protection matter more than rapid moisture dispersal. The StormStretch® rear panel partially offsets this limitation, providing breathability across the back where heat builds up most during movement. The entire jacket has a wind-resistant treatment, which reduces heat loss in exposed conditions — but this is not waterproofing: in heavy rain, DuraCanvas® slows water penetration without stopping it.

The YKK® side zips open from the hem up to the armpit and serve three purposes: they make it easier to put the jacket on and take it off without opening the hood, allow active ventilation while moving, and give access to layers underneath without removing the jacket. The front kangaroo pocket includes an internal organiser, useful for keeping a map, phone, or frequently used small items separated. The hood is adjustable with a peak; the cuffs close with snaps and loops to seal out air without exposed zips that could clog with debris.
