The Woodsman Anorak is a pullover-style jacket built for those who spend long hours in woodland, at camp, or in demanding outdoor conditions. Its hybrid construction combines two fabrics with opposing properties: DuraCanvas on the front and shoulders, and StormStretch on the back — achieving a balance between mechanical durability and freedom of movement that a single uniform fabric could not deliver.

DuraCanvas on the front panel is not an aesthetic choice: it is the side that takes the punishment from brambles, logs, and sparks. The tight weave holds up against abrasion and does not tear on contact with sharp branches — something lightweight stretch fabrics cannot guarantee. The StormStretch back panel works in the opposite way: it moves with the arms and shoulders, lets excess heat escape, and reduces fatigue during activities that involve sustained movement. The entire surface is wind-resistant, but it does not form a waterproof barrier: the jacket breathes and does not trap moisture the way a fully sealed shell would. Those working at a high output will find this trade-off more comfortable than a waterproof hardshell in many conditions.

The anorak pulls over the head with no centre zip, eliminating a common failure point and reducing heat loss across the chest. The full-length YKK side zips, which extend up to the armpits, address the one traditional drawback of the anorak — awkward donning and doffing — and also serve as active ventilation openings when the pace picks up. The front kangaroo pocket is generously sized and includes an internal organiser, useful for keeping small items separate without opening the pack. The hood and cuffs are adjustable, so the jacket fits equally well over an insulating mid-layer or directly over base-layer knits.

Key features

  • Hybrid DuraCanvas / StormStretch construction: the front resists abrasion and sparks, the back moves with the body and promotes breathability.
  • Wind resistance across the entire surface, without the airtight seal that traps moisture during intense physical activity.
  • Full YKK side zips to the armpits: they simplify what is typically the awkward process of getting an anorak on and off, and act as ventilation vents.
  • Kangaroo pocket with internal organiser: quick access to frequently used items without opening the pack.
  • Adjustable wired hood and cuffs to tailor the fit to whatever layer sits underneath.
  • Anorak design with no front zip: removes a critical failure point and a source of heat loss across the chest.
