Helikon-Tex Wolfhound Hoodie Climashield Apex Jacket

The Wolfhound Hoodie is an insulated hooded jacket designed for extended time outdoors in cold or changing conditions. It works as a standalone outer layer or as a mid-layer under a rain shell. The patch panel on the left sleeve measures 9 x 11 cm and accepts velcro ID patches or badges without any additional sewing.

The Climashield Apex 67 g/m² insulation retains its thermal properties even when completely wet: unlike down, which collapses once saturated, the continuous synthetic fibres of Climashield maintain their loft and keep insulating. The outer shell in WindPack nylon blocks wind and reduces heat loss during movement, while remaining light and packable enough to fit in a rucksack without eating up useful volume. It should be noted that WindPack offers wind resistance and light water repellency, not waterproofing: in heavy rain, the right solution is to layer a dedicated shell over it.

The VersaStretch underarm panels eliminate the restriction typical of insulated jackets during wide arm movements — shooting, climbing, or moving with a loaded pack. Cuffs, hem and hood are finished with elastic binding that seals the openings without constant manual adjustment; the shaped hood includes an additional soft brim. The four YKK zips — three external pockets and one internal — deliver reliable open-close cycles even with gloves on.
