The Vector Optics VAS universal RIS adapter is a mounting solution that allows accessories with a RIS attachment to be installed on standard Picatinny rails, adding 57 mm of height above the base rail. It is designed for shooters, professional operators and outdoor enthusiasts who need to reposition optics, lights or other accessories at a raised height relative to the weapon profile.

The 57 mm height is not an aesthetic choice: it allows the optical axis of a red dot or scope to align with the natural line of sight, reducing the need to adjust head position on the stock. On AR platforms and rifles with a standard fixed stock, this eliminates the misalignment between the line of sight and the bore axis, improving target acquisition speed.

Universal compatibility with the RIS standard means the VAS adapter fits without additional modifications on any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, making it interchangeable across different weapon platforms. Metal construction ensures it holds zero even under the recoil of high-impulse calibres.

Vector Accessory System: riser adapters and modular plates for red dots.

VAS, Vector Accessory System, is Vector Optics' modular mounting system. The base attaches to a Picatinny rail and the upper interface accepts interchangeable adapters for different red dot footprints — MGT, GIN, RMSc — without having to replace the base when changing optics.

Raised adapters are available at 38, 49 and 57 mm. The taller heights are designed to align the optic with the natural eye position when wearing a helmet with a night vision device or a protective mask: raising the red dot eliminates the need to lower the head down to the stock, a posture that is not always practical when wearing a helmet.
