The Vector Optics VAS adapter for the RUM footprint is an interface component aimed at shooters who use optics or accessories with a RUM footprint and need compatibility with VAS mounting systems. Designed for installations on precision rifles and tactical platforms, it provides a solid mechanical fit without affecting the sight line geometry.

Cross-footprint compatibility is often the weak point in advanced configurations: using a dedicated adapter means keeping the manufacturer's original reference instead of resorting to workarounds that introduce mechanical play or misalignment. The VAS adapter is engineered specifically for the RUM footprint, ensuring that zero-return repeatability remains intact even after the optic has been removed and remounted.

Vector Accessory System: riser adapters and modular plates for red dots.

VAS, Vector Accessory System, is Vector Optics' modular mounting system. The base attaches to a Picatinny rail and the upper interface accepts interchangeable adapters for different red dot footprints — MGT, GIN, RMSc — without having to replace the base when changing optics.

Raised adapters are available at 38, 49 and 57 mm. The taller heights are designed to align the optic with the natural eye position when wearing a helmet with a night vision device or a protective mask: raising the red dot eliminates the need to lower the head down to the stock, a posture that is not always practical when wearing a helmet.
