Vector Optics

The Vector Optics VAS adapter for GIN footprint is an interface component designed for shooters who want to mount VAS-footprint accessories on optics with a GIN base, maintaining compatibility between different mounting systems without structural compromise.

The role of this type of adapter is not trivial: each footprint has its own geometry and hole spacing, and a poorly fitted intermediate component introduces mechanical play that translates directly into loss of zero. The Vector Optics VAS-to-GIN adapter is engineered to eliminate this risk, ensuring a precise mating between the two contact surfaces and reliable transmission of recoil forces without any give.

The matte black finish reduces reflections in bright light conditions, a detail valued by both the sport shooter and the operator working across varied environments. Compatibility with the VAS system makes it a practical component for anyone who has already invested in accessories from that family and wants to extend their use to platforms with a GIN base.

Key points

  • Direct interface between VAS footprint and GIN base, with no improvised workarounds that compromise zero
  • Precise mechanical fit to eliminate play and maintain point of impact under recoil
  • Matte black finish to reduce reflections in all lighting conditions
  • Extends VAS accessory compatibility to optics with a GIN footprint, protecting your existing equipment investment

VAS

Vector Accessory System: riser adapters and modular plates for red dots.

VAS, Vector Accessory System, is Vector Optics' modular mounting system. The base attaches to a Picatinny rail and the upper interface accepts interchangeable adapters for different red dot footprints — MGT, GIN, RMSc — without having to replace the base when changing optics.

Raised adapters are available at 38, 49 and 57 mm. The taller heights are designed to align the optic with the natural eye position when wearing a helmet with a night vision device or a protective mask: raising the red dot eliminates the need to lower the head down to the stock, a posture that is not always practical when wearing a helmet.
