Tasmanian Tiger

The Modular Daypack L is an 18-litre tactical day rucksack made from Cordura® 700 den, designed for those who need a lightweight second echelon pack to attach to a larger system or carry independently on single-day operations. With an empty weight of 800 g — less than a full one-litre water bottle — it adds virtually nothing to the overall load equation.

The Cordura® 700 den construction balances two often competing requirements: the abrasion and tear resistance expected of a technical material, and the minimal weight penalty a day pack must deliver. The 46x27x12 cm dimensions produce a compact profile that stays within the body's outline, which matters when operating in confined spaces or moving through cover without snagging.

Compression straps allow the internal volume to be reduced when the load does not fill the pack, preventing contents from shifting on uneven ground and disrupting carrying balance. The external MOLLE panel lets you add modular pouches to suit the mission, turning the daypack into an adaptable platform rather than a fixed container. It is worth noting that the front pocket offers quick access to frequently used items, but the total capacity of 18 litres is not intended for tasks requiring a change of clothing or substantial rations: this is a patrol pack, not an expedition rucksack.

Key features

  • An empty weight of 800 g leaves almost the entire useful load capacity available for actual kit.
  • Cordura® 700 den fabric handles abrasion on rocky ground and dense vegetation without stiffening the structure.
  • The MOLLE system on the external panel lets you add or remove modular pouches to suit the day's configuration.
  • Compression straps stabilise a partial load and reduce perceived volume when the pack is not full.
  • The top carry handle allows the pack to be pulled quickly from a compartment or vehicle without putting it on.
  • The 46x27x12 cm profile keeps the rucksack within the body's outline, reducing lateral bulk on the move.
