Helikon-Tex Alpha Tactical Fleece Jacket

The Alpha Tactical is a technical fleece jacket designed as a mid-layer for those operating in cold environments with tactical gear. It weighs 630 g and compresses enough to be packed into a rucksack or an external pocket, making it easy to carry when not worn.

The fleece is built to work within a layering system: the internal mesh lining improves airflow between skin and fabric, reducing moisture build-up during physical activity, while the shaped fit allows a soft or hard shell to be worn over the top without restricting movement. The elasticated hem with quick-release adjusters and elasticated cuffs retain heat without getting in the way when working on the move.

The pocket layout sets the Alpha Tactical apart from the base version: the bicep pockets with hook-and-loop panels allow identification patches to be attached or frequently accessed items to be carried without opening the outer shell. The chest pocket includes a cable routing port, useful for managing headsets or PTT cables without leaving them exposed. The two lower hand pockets with YKK zips close securely even with gloves on. The high collar with a built-in chin guard at the YKK front zip reduces cold spots in the most exposed area. It is worth noting that this fleece has no water-repellent treatment: it manages warmth and moisture vapour, not rain — precipitation management is left to the outer shell.
