Shelter Helikon-Tex Supertarp Small — Olive Green

The Helikon-Tex Supertarp Small is a coated ripstop polyester shelter tarp designed for quickly setting up improvised cover in adverse weather. Its compact packed size fits easily into a rucksack without adding significant weight, making it a practical choice for hikers, hunters and field operators who cannot afford to be caught in rain, snow or wind without any form of overhead protection.

The coated ripstop polyester fabric blocks water and wind while keeping weight low: the ripstop weave contains tears along the grid rather than letting them spread, extending the useful life of the tarp even after hard use with guy lines under tension. Glued seams eliminate the infiltration points typical of conventional stitched seams — the known weak spot in nearly every non-laminated tarp — resulting in more reliable waterproofing even when the tarp is pitched at an angle with water running across it for extended periods.

Multiple anchor points distributed around the perimeter and along the diagonals allow the tarp to be rigged in different configurations — lean-to, ridgeline, hammock shelter — adapting to the terrain and wind direction. Bear in mind that guy lines and stakes are not included: anyone heading out without dedicated gear will need to carry at least some utility cord and a few anchors separately. This is a deliberate design choice around weight, not an oversight: the shelter is intended for those who already carry basic rigging materials in their pack.
