The Nite Ize SlideLock Carabiner Bungee is an elastic cord 121 cm long and 8 mm in diameter, fitted with a sliding locking carabiner at each end. It is designed for securing loads to truck beds, trailers, roof racks and field equipment under repeated, continuous use.

What sets this bungee apart from traditional models is the carabiner locking mechanism: the hook stays attached to the anchor point both under tension and at rest. A standard bungee with a free hook can slip off when tension drops — for example when travelling over rough ground — creating a risk of the load coming loose or the hook snapping back and striking someone. The sliding lock eliminates this behaviour, making intentional release more controlled and unintentional release far less likely. The trade-off is that opening requires a deliberate action: slower than a simple J-hook, but considerably more predictable.
