Vector Optics Continental 1-8x24i ED Fiber LPVO Scope — Matte Black

The Continental 1-8x24i ED Fiber is a second focal plane LPVO with variable magnification from 1-8x and a 24 mm objective lens, designed for dynamic shooters, competition shooters and hunters who need a single optic capable of handling both close-range engagements on full field of view and distant targets at full magnification. At 530 grams and 290 mm in length, it stays compact enough not to unbalance a competition carbine.

The optical system uses ED low-dispersion lenses with full multi-coating on all surfaces, with a stated light transmission above 93%. In low-light conditions — at dawn or dusk — the difference between partial and full coatings translates directly into target contrast and definition: the Continental is designed to stay readable when other optics in the same price range begin to lose brightness. At minimum magnification the true field of view reaches 23.6°, equal to 41 metres at 100 metres, giving full situational awareness in close-range use; at 8x the field narrows to 5.13 metres at 100 metres, with enough magnification to identify and engage a target at medium distance without switching optics.

The constant eye relief of 95 mm keeps the eyepiece clear of the shooter's brow even with hard-recoiling calibres: the manufacturer rates it to 750 G and states compatibility with .338 Lapua Magnum recoil. The lockable, zero-resettable turrets with a click value of 1/10 MIL offer 40 MIL of travel per axis — elevation and windage — enough for long-range corrections without losing zero reference. The VET-FDR reticle with fibre-optic dot has 11 brightness levels, usable in direct sunlight. As this is a second focal plane design, the reticle remains constant in apparent size across the magnification range: at 1x the fibre dot is small and does not obscure the target, while at 8x the reticle subtensions become visible and usable for range estimation, with their accuracy tied to maximum magnification. The 30 mm mono-tube body in 6061-T6 alloy, with IP67 sealing and nitrogen fill, ensures waterproofing and resistance to internal fogging in any weather conditions.
