The Ratel Mk2 is a 25-litre tactical backpack in Cordura fabric, designed by Helikon-Tex for one- or two-day light patrols and everyday carry in demanding environments. With an empty weight of 1,330 grams — barely more than a full one-litre water bottle — it offers a substantial usable volume without adding unnecessary burden before you even set off.

The support system is built for extended wear: the stiffened back panel holds its shape and creates an air gap that reduces heat build-up against the back, while the contoured shoulder straps distribute the load without pressure points. The waist belt is detachable: when working on foot in urban terrain or mounting a vehicle, it comes off in seconds so it does not restrict movement; when the load stretches into several hours of movement, clip it on and part of the weight transfers to the hips, relieving the shoulders.

Scalability is the Ratel Mk2's core structural strength. The MOLLE/PALS webbing on the front, sides and bottom allows external pouches to be added without modifying the pack itself, adjusting volume to the day's requirements. The large main compartment accepts any hydration bladder via the internal hanger, and the tube routing slot passes through the structure without reducing usable space. The front hook-and-loop panel accommodates ID patches or equipment panels. The two external utility pockets and YKK zippers complete a system built for sustained daily use, not occasional outings.
