The Range Hoodie is a tactical hooded sweatshirt designed by Helikon-Tex specifically for sport shooting and range work in changing weather conditions. Its extended cut, which keeps the garment tucked in during movement, and its multi-material construction set it clearly apart from a generic hoodie or a traditional combat shirt.

The main body is made from 100% TopCool polyester, an active moisture-management fabric that wicks sweat away from the skin to keep you drier during dynamic shooting sessions. Where polyester alone is not sufficient — the underarms and highest-friction zones — Helikon-Tex adds panels in 93% nylon and 7% elastane: the nylon improves abrasion and tear resistance caused by repeated contact with slings, plate carrier straps or a rifle stock, while the elastane restores freedom of movement in the most demanding shooting positions. A 100% polyester mesh panel under each arm provides direct ventilation in the highest heat-output zones, which matters when transitioning quickly from static waiting to rapid movement.

The hood is anatomically shaped to avoid interfering with hearing protection, earpieces or the lower rim of a helmet. Two small zip pockets on the shoulders keep small accessories within reach without adding bulk to the sides. A front zip kangaroo pocket completes the layout. It is worth being clear about the trade-off: the Range Hoodie is built to be an active mid-layer, not a protective shell. It manages heat and moisture better than a softshell, but offers no meaningful resistance to wind or sustained rain.
