Those working in humid environments or spending long hours walking in the rain will find it more practical than a 100% cotton BDU; those operating in dry desert conditions may prefer pure cotton. Double stitching on all seams and reinforcement at the knees and seat extend the garment's service life at the points where wear typically starts first.

Six pockets — two bellowed side cargo pockets with button closure, two rear pockets with button closure, and two side pockets — provide space for consumables, documents or light equipment without needing a loaded belt.
