Helikon-Tex Outdoor Bottle 550 ml — Smoked

The Helikon-Tex Outdoor Bottle is a 550 ml BPA-free Tritan™ water bottle designed for people working outdoors in variable conditions who cannot afford to compromise on the quality of what they drink. The semi-transparent smoked colour lets you check the liquid level at a glance.

Tritan™ is a copolyester that does not leach into the liquid inside: water retains its original taste even after hours of exposure to sun or cold. The material holds its shape across a thermal range from −10 °C to +90 °C, meaning the bottle handles both the frost of a bivouac night and very hot water for dissolving a ration or preparing a drink. This is a concrete figure: many budget plastic bottles lose structural integrity at around 60–70 °C.

The wide mouth is a well-considered trade-off. On one hand it makes filling from natural springs, streams or wide-opening containers straightforward, and allows ice or energy powders to be added directly; on the other hand it requires a cap with a reliable integrated gasket to prevent leaks in a pack. Helikon-Tex has moulded the gasket directly into the cap — it is not a separate ring that can be lost in the field.
