Snugpak Merino Military Sock

The Snugpak Merino Military Sock is a technical military sock in superfine Merino wool blend, designed for those who spend hours on their feet across demanding terrain — on duty, hunting, or during extended marches. It weighs 80 g in size M and 85 g in size L, keeping the load light even in minimal-kit setups.

The construction combines 30% Merino wool with 60% acrylic, 6% polyamide, 2% Cordura polyamide and 2% Lycra elastane. Merino is a naturally thermoregulating fibre: it retains warmth when needed and allows moisture and vapour to escape as temperature rises. Paired with footwear featuring a breathable membrane, this behaviour helps the membrane function correctly rather than working against it. The acrylic adds durability and shape retention over time — a well-considered trade-off compared to a pure Merino sock, which would be softer but would wear out sooner at friction points.

The loop Terry knit construction provides consistent cushioning along the entire length of the sock, with no harder or softer zones that can create hot spots during movement. The turned-over cuff and low profile support the calf without compressing the muscle. Flat seams at the toe and heel reduce friction areas, lowering blister risk on long marches. The close fit prevents internal folds — the main cause of irritation — without restricting circulation. Available in size M (EU 40–43) and L (EU 44–47).
