The Helikon-Tex MCDU trousers are a combat garment inspired by 1950s parachutist trousers, built in NyCo fabric — a nylon-cotton blend — with Versastretch panels and Cordura 500D reinforcements on the high-wear areas. They are designed for those who face dynamic situations demanding freedom of movement, load-carrying capacity and long-term durability: shooters, hunters, operators and outdoor enthusiasts.

The main NyCo body combines nylon's abrasion resistance with cotton's breathability, but the most important trade-off lies in the Versastretch panels — positioned at the waist, crotch and rear knee. The stretch fabric in these critical zones allows you to crouch, crawl and climb obstacles without the trousers resisting the movement, while the rigid NyCo in the load-bearing areas handles wear and abrasion. Anyone looking for a fully stretch trouser will get more freedom of movement, but will lose load-carrying performance and abrasion resistance; the MCDU is built around balance, not extremes.

The knees and seat are reinforced with Cordura 500D, and the knees incorporate a dedicated pocket for hard or semi-rigid protective inserts — a practical solution for those who work on their knees on hard surfaces or frequently drop into a kneeling position. The closure combines a classic metal zip with a storm zip. Belt loops accept belts up to 40 mm wide, compatible with the most common tactical systems. The pocket layout includes reinforced-edge side pockets, front cargo pockets with a zip opening under a flap, open-top rear pockets, pistol magazine pouches and calf pockets; mesh panels between compartments allow air to circulate.

Key points

  • Versastretch panels at the waist, crotch and rear knee provide full freedom of movement in the most demanding positions without compromising the durability of the NyCo body.
  • Cordura 500D reinforcement on the knees and seat extends the garment's service life in the areas most exposed to abrasion and contact wear.
  • The integrated knee pocket allows hard or semi-rigid protective inserts to be added, adapting the trousers to the intensity of the activity.
  • Belt loops accept belts up to 40 mm wide, compatible with most tactical systems and duty belts.
  • The compartment layout — cargo, side, calf and pistol magazine pockets — allows equipment weight to be distributed without resorting to additional external pouches.
  • Mesh panels between compartments promote airflow, limiting heat build-up during extended use.
