The Helikon-Tex MCDU Combat Shirt is a long-sleeve combat shirt designed for operators and shooters working in hot conditions, with or without overlaid ballistic equipment. The cut works in synergy with plate carriers, chest rigs and tactical vests through a close torso silhouette and structured sleeves.

The shirt body uses a 100% TopCool polyester insert in the highest heat-buildup zones: the technical fabric promotes moisture evacuation to the outer surface and dries quickly after intense exertion. The sleeves and mandarin collar are instead made from NyCo Ripstop 50% cotton / 50% nylon, more resistant to the abrasion and mechanical wear produced by load-bearing shoulder straps and protective gear. This material combination resolves a real-world trade-off: the torso gains maximum breathability where heat generation is highest, while the sleeves retain the durability needed to withstand daily friction from equipment without breaking down.

The two zippered bicep pockets allow quick access to small items such as folded maps, documents or navigation tools, without interfering with arm movement. The two loop panels on the shoulders allow identification patches or national flags to be applied securely and removed without leaving marks. The PenCott WildWood camouflage is developed for woodland environments and temperate vegetation, with a colour scheme that breaks up the silhouette against mixed backgrounds of green, brown and grey.
