FMA

The FMA E-Lite is a flat-body silicone positional indicator designed to be worn on a helmet, tactical vest, or technical clothing during night operations and signalling. Weighing 30 g and measuring 100x30x10 mm, it sits on the kit without adding bulk or restricting movement — a relevant factor in airborne operations or confined spaces.

The flexible silicone body allows direct attachment to curved surfaces without rigid adapters: it mounts to the velcro panels of helmets, vests, and shirts, or threads through PALS webbing on standard kit. This mounting flexibility is its main advantage over hard-body indicators, which require dedicated mounts and add thickness. The trade-off is that silicone does not provide the mechanical lock of a metal clip: on high-vibration terrain it is worth checking the attachment is secure before going into action.

It offers two operating modes — steady and strobe — useful respectively for stable identification in low-visibility conditions and for intermittent signalling between elements of the same team. Power comes from a single 3 V CR2032 battery, with a rated runtime of 120 hours on steady mode. The light colour is blue.

Key points

  • The silicone body conforms to curved surfaces without adapters, allowing direct attachment to helmets and clothing.
  • Compatible with velcro and PALS webbing: no additional hardware needed to mount on standard kit.
  • At 30 g and 100x30x10 mm, it does not affect the balance of worn equipment.
  • Rated 120-hour runtime on steady mode using a standard CR2032, easy to source in the field.
  • Water- and impact-resistant, suited for use in demanding operational conditions.
