The main advantage of Climashield Apex over down insulation lies in its behaviour when wet: the fill is hydrophobic, meaning it retains its thermal properties even when completely soaked and dries quickly. The nylon outer shell blocks wind and sheds water while still allowing enough breathability for active use. This balance makes the jacket viable both in static situations — such as a hunting hide — and during sustained-pace movement, where a non-breathable waterproof shell would cause overheating.
