The Guardian's main feature is its dual retention configuration. The hook-and-loop flap with anti-slip tab releases quickly and can be removed entirely for open-top use: in this mode the magazine is retained by an adjustable bungee cord. Open-top carry allows faster draws and reloads, but gives up the physical security of a closed flap — anyone working in dense vegetation or doing frequent ground work may prefer the flap configuration to avoid accidentally losing the magazine. The dual-row MOLLE/PALS attachment allows mounting on a plate carrier, chest rig or tactical belt with a MOLLE panel.
