Helikon-Tex Gunfighter Shark Skin Jacket

The Gunfighter is a lightweight outer layer jacket in four-way stretch Shark Skin fabric (100% polyester) with an integrated Windblocker membrane and DuPont Teflon DWR treatment. It weighs approximately 975 grams and is built for operators in active service who need freedom of movement without sacrificing protection in windy, light-rain, cool or cold conditions.

The four-way stretch Shark Skin eliminates tension points at the shoulders and elbows during shooting positions, weapon transitions or climbing. The elbows are reinforced to withstand wear from resting on hard surfaces. The Windblocker membrane blocks wind and sheds light moisture, while a lightweight fleece lining adds a layer of warmth without adding bulk: declared breathability is 8,000 g/m²/24h, adequate for moderate-intensity activity but not for intense aerobic exertion. It should be noted that the Teflon treatment is water-resistant, not waterproof: it handles light rain and splashes, but not prolonged or heavy precipitation.

The packable hood stows in the collar and adjusts via drawcords routed through the chest pockets, allowing adjustment even with gloves on. The bidirectional YKK front zip runs from the waist to the collar and includes a chin guard. Underarm ventilation zips allow heat to escape during fast movement without removing the jacket. Velcro panels on the biceps accept ranks, name tapes or IR patches. The external chest pockets feature cable ports, D-rings and device slots; the left forearm pocket is useful for small items that need quick access; the rear pocket with dual sliding zips can be opened while wearing a backpack.
