Helikon-Tex Gunfighter Shark Skin Jacket

The Gunfighter is a lightweight outer layer jacket in 4-way stretch Shark Skin fabric, designed for LE and military units in cold and temperate climates. Weighing around 975 grams, it provides an outer shell that blocks wind, light rain and dirt without compromising breathability or freedom of movement during armed operations.

The 100% polyester Shark Skin fabric combines Helikon-Tex's Windblocker membrane with a DuPont Teflon finish: the former prevents wind penetration, the latter causes light water and dirt to bead off without soaking in. Declared breathability is 8,000 g/m²/24h, sufficient for moderate-intensity activity in cold conditions. It is worth noting that Teflon is a DWR treatment, not a waterproof membrane: it protects against drizzle and splashes, but not against heavy or prolonged rain. A lightweight fleece inner lining adds a degree of warmth without adding bulk.

The pocket layout is designed for operational use: the external chest pockets feature cable ports, D-rings and device slots, accessible from various body positions; the left forearm pocket on the front allows small quick-reference items to be stowed; the rear pocket with dual sliding zips can be accessed from either side. The bicep pockets with cable grommets are flanked by Velcro ID panels. Reinforced elbows protect the fabric in prone shooting positions while maintaining freedom of movement, and underarm ventilation zips allow temperature regulation during high-output activity. The hood, stored in the collar, can be deployed and adjusted via cords routed through the chest pockets without removing gloves.
