Helikon-Tex Guardian Flap Magazine Pouch — Olive Green

The Guardian Flap is a modular front panel designed specifically for the Helikon-Tex Guardian plate carrier, built to carry three rifle magazines in a readily accessible configuration. It attaches to the vest via two quick-release buckles and a hook-and-loop system, allowing it to be mounted or removed without tools even when switching between loadouts.

Internally, the compartment is divided into three separate sections, each sized to fit a magazine for AR, AK47 and AK74 platforms. Retention is handled by an open-top elastic bungee cord with a non-slip grip: this approach allows single-handed magazine extraction and reinsertion without releasing any retention device, making it fast enough for dynamic shooting. The trade-off is that, compared to a flap or snap-retention system, hold is less aggressive on uneven terrain or in non-vertical positions; anyone operating from vehicles or moving over rough ground should factor this into their assessment.

The outer face of the flap features a MOLLE/PALS modular grid of 6 columns by 3 rows, enough to add an admin pouch, a torch pouch or other accessories without overloading the main carrier. Along the sides of the panel, additional woven loops threaded with elastic cord allow oddly shaped gear to be secured. Non-slip grab handles are stitched to the lower edges to make detaching the flap straightforward even with gloves on.
