The system solves the problem of cable management: the integrated cable channel prevents NVG battery leads or switch cables from tangling or interfering with mounted accessories. The cable pass-throughs are sized for the most common outputs found on NVG kits in current use, avoiding improvised workarounds that compromise a clean setup. The new-generation thin rubber central band is designed to retain IR strobes, cameras and similar devices without adding unnecessary bulk over the shell.

The universal rear compartment accepts the most common battery packs and counterweights, including AA and CR123 batteries used by the majority of issued NVG systems. This means there is no need to purchase a dedicated rear mount every time the apparatus changes: the trade-off is that the universal fit does not offer the precision of a purpose-shaped housing, but in operational practice the velcro adjustment compensates with sufficient reliability. Mounting on the helmet takes a few seconds with no tools required.
